DESIGN OF OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SERVICE INFORMATION SYSTEM IN SUPPORTING COVID-19 SURVEILLANCES FOR HEALTHCARE WORKERS IN PUBLIC HOSPITAL, INDONESIA
Abstract
The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted greatly to the huge number of healthcare workers infected in Indonesia. This huge number of healthcare workers infected has shown the lack of health system resilient to COVID-19, especially in the term of occupational health services for healthcare workers. One of the most important programme in the occupational health service in healthcare facilities is the surveillance of its workers. Unfortunately, the surveillance of healthcare workers in Indonesia still has not well implemented until recently. Because of its manual database, poor documentations, the lack of feedback, monitoring, and review from the workers themselves, it often cannot be sustained and making the cases of healthcare workers infected keep increasing without the evidence-based interventions. The health information and management system can help to handle this problem. Therefore, the present work aimed at designing an occupational health services information system to support the COVID-19 surveillance for healthcare workers in public hospital with the high risks related to COVID-19. Prototyping method was used in the development design with the user requirement analysis was done qualitatively using stakeholder analysis and in-depth interview. Accordingly, 12 informants from Public Hospital of Nganjuk as one of the COVID-19 referral hospital in Indonesia, were interviewed using the WHO stakeholder analysis guidelines with some modifications related to COVID-19 surveillance. Resulted that occupational health service information system design was well supported mostly from the management department. It is suggested that for any COVID-19 referral hospital, the COVID-19 surveillance systems for healthcare workers should be done regularly. Also for the next stage of system development, coordination with IT Staff or programmer from hospital is much needed.
