ANALYSIS OF KNOWLEDGE FACTORS RELATED TO COVID-19 PREVENTION TO LATE ADOLESCENTS IN SURABAYA
Abstract
Surabaya has the highest positive cases of COVID-19 in East Java, Indonesia with 17,807 cases as of December 23, 2020. Meanwhile, positive cases of COVID-19 in late adolescents in Surabaya are high, with 3,559 cases as of January 7, 2021. Various preventive efforts have been intensified by the government, such as the implementation of new normal rules by implementing health protocols in daily activities, but the cases are still high. This study aims to analyze the knowledge factors related to COVID-19 prevention to late adolescents in Surabaya. This study is an observational study with cross sectional design. Respondents were late adolescents in Surabaya, as total 385 respondents. The sampling method used is non probability sampling with screened sample technique. Collecting data uses online-based questionnaires. The data analysis used are univariable and bivariable analysis using Rank Spearman correlation test. The results showed that Mostly respondent was female, with the highest education in college. There was knowledge about COVID-19 related to COVID-19 prevention. the Spearman Rank correlation coefficients showed that the strength of those relationships are quite strong (p value: 0.000; Coeffisien Correlation Rank Spearman 0,428). It is recommended that late adolescent need to discuss information about COVID-19that they acquired with their parents because to known the information they have and to avoid misinformation obtained.
