FOOD DIVERSITY HAS CORRELATION WITH CORONAVIRUS INFECTION HISTORY
Abstract
The diversity of food has crucial roles to improve the health status of the body. The level of food diversity describes the nutritional quality of the diet. When we consumed a variety of food, the body needs of macro and micronutrients will be fulfilled. Both play an important role in maintaining the body's immunity. Especially during the current COVID-19 pandemic. Several previous studies have analyzed that a high level of food diversity can reduce the risk of contracting non-communicable diseases, extend life expectancy, and reduce the risk of death. But, many factors like food preference, busy work, and limited access to food often make a person eat a variety of foods. The COVID-19 pandemic has limited public activities. Recommendations to stay at home and limit activities outside the home, making access to food in our community worse. In addition, the busyness of working or studying from home that increases makes most people choose to eat fast food that is practical, but the composition is less diverse. The habit of eating a fewer variety of foods is possible to trigger a decrease in the level of immunity and individual health status.
